Your images stay on your device.
Image Well Done is designed so image operations run locally in your web browser. We do not operate an image-processing backend, database, or cloud photo store.
How browser data is handled
Core image processing
Browser memory only. Image files you select are decoded and rendered directly inside client-side Web Workers and Canvas memory within your current browser tab. Pixels and binary data are discarded when you close or refresh the page.
IndexedDB
Temporary Quick Drop handoff. When you select a photo in the homepage Quick Drop and click an action, the file is temporarily placed in local browser IndexedDB to transition you to the requested tool without network transfer. This record has a 10-minute time-to-live (TTL), is automatically deleted once consumed by the tool, and is purged on modal cancel or expiration.
localStorage
Preferences only. Used strictly for non-sensitive tool preferences (such as your chosen output format, default quality slider, or UI theme). LocalStorage does not intentionally contain image bytes, EXIF data, or base64 photo strings.
Cache Storage (PWA)
Static application shell only. The service worker caches static assets (HTML shell, JavaScript bundles, CSS, and favicon assets) to enable offline capabilities. Cache Storage never caches user-selected photos, blob URLs, or processed image outputs.
Metadata and EXIF handling
EXIF inspection and metadata stripping are executed in client-side memory using pure JavaScript libraries. GPS coordinates, camera model serial numbers, timestamps, and filenames are never logged, stored, or transmitted over the network.
Network infrastructure
Image Well Done is hosted statically via Cloudflare Pages. Standard edge network infrastructure receives ordinary HTTP request metadata required to serve web pages (such as your IP address and user-agent header). This standard web delivery is completely isolated from your image processing, which happens locally on your device.
Analytics and future advertising
Any analytics or feature monitoring implemented on this site is strictly privacy-safe and aggregate. We explicitly prohibit capturing image payloads, filenames, EXIF contents, GPS data, or raw user file paths in telemetry events.
How to clear local browser data
You have full control over all data held by your browser. You can clear temporary transfer handoffs immediately using the button below:
You can also clear site data manually at any time in your browser settings:
Chrome & Edge: Settings › Privacy and security › Clear browsing data (select "Cookies and site data").
Safari: Settings › Safari › Advanced › Website Data › Remove All Website Data.
Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data › Clear Data.
